The bridge over Darmstadt’s main access connects the European Quarter, the main train station, and the Rhein-Main Telecommunications Center for pedestrians and cyclists.
The elegant bridge, with a focus on preserving trees, meanders over Rheinstraße, providing long ramps and staircases for pedestrians. Spiral ramps facilitate the crossing for people with limited mobility and cyclists.
The structural design, supported by V-shaped double pillars, rhythmic U-shaped spars in subtle gray, and the changing play of light and shadow, give the bridge a dynamic appearance during the day. The geometric course offers glimpses into the brightly red interior of the trough, guiding users from the main train station to the technology center.
Size: 350 meters in length, including ramps
