CSZ at the ground-breaking ceremony for the three-court sports hall at the Römerstadion Ladenburg

On March 22, the construction of the three-court sports hall at the Römerstadion was launched with a ground-breaking ceremony. Among the guests were prominent personalities such as Fadime Tuncer and Sebastian Cuny, members of the state parliament, as well as representatives from politics, sport and education. Mayor Stefan Schmutz proudly announced the start of this pioneering investment in the city’s future, which will cost 17.2 million euros.

The three-court sports hall will be built largely from sustainable timber construction, thus contributing to the modern sports infrastructure for schools and clubs. It is aiming for silver certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and uses materials that can be recycled. A photovoltaic system on the roof will supply the outdoor public pool with environmentally friendly electricity, setting a pioneering example of local energy cooperation.

The structural design is being handled by the experienced team at CSZ, while the architecture is being designed by Löhle Neubauer Architekten BDA PMBB. Project supervision is in the capable hands of Motorlab Architekten. CSZ is looking forward to being part of this milestone for the city’s sporting future.
