‘Young Living in Marzahn’ (Berlin)

The new apartment buildings at Ludwig-Renn-Strasse 56 – 64 in Berlin-Mahrzahn consist of seven full stories and a stacked floor and each includes a living space of 3,900 m² with 57 residential units.
The buildings have flat roofs, no basements and all meet the KfW Efficiency House 55 standard. A total of five houses were designed and built using hybrid construction methods.
Floor slabs, floor slabs and the load-bearing walls were made of reinforced concrete. The facades consist of prefabricated timber frame elements.
One of the five buildings was also funded through the Variowohnen program (model project for the sustainable and affordable construction of Variowohnungen by the BBSR).
