New construction of the central bus station in the east of the main railway station in Rüsselsheim as a replacement for the old location at the station forecourt. Creation of a waiting area formed as an island with stopping places for buses in a saw-shaped arrangement. Construction of 7 stopping places, 4 of them for articulated buses. The development of the waiting area is made via the centre-line of the waiting island.
Due to the lowering of the accesses and creation of a tactile guidance system the waiting island is handicapped accessible. In extension of the centre-line of the waiting island the station is connected in the west, in the east there is a canopied bicycle parking with adjacent underground car parking. The bus traffic areas were executed according to Bauklasse II, RStO (German regulation for the standardisation of superstructures for traffic areas) with a road surface of concrete according to ZTV Beton-StB (Additional technical contract conditions and regulations for the construction of road surfaces of concrete, Germany). The road gullies and the roof drainage were connected to a new storm sewer DN 300 (nominal diameter), which disposes via a connection into the public sewer system.
