Scope Of Planing

Structural Design

The increasing demand for drinking water in the centre of the structurally growing Rhine-Main area made it necessary to expand the existing clear-water reservoir of the city of Langen. The new construction of the elevated tank III on the Steinberg increases the capacity of fresh drinking water by more than 2,200 m³ and guarantees long-term supply to the households even in times of intensive consumption.

By means of the illustration of the axially symmetrical structure via a three-dimensional FEM calculation we determined the exact cutting conditions of force and water pressure. Thus, our company was able to propose and to design a jointless and impermeable construction without any additional imperilling sealing materials.
