Building project

The waste of almost the entire state of Saarland with an amount of approx. 210.000 tons/year is incinerated in the plant. Since the start-up for the implementation planning was only two weeks before the scheduled beginning of the construction, the integration for the contribution of all planners (mechanical, electrical and architectural) into the construction drawings has been very demanding.

Construction

Waste Dumping Hall:
Pre-cast reinforced concrete structure with steel trusses for the roof (clear span approx. 40 m)
Waste incineration:
Nine blocks approx. 30 x 40 m each with a pre-cast reinforced concrete structure, slabs made of pre-cast concrete elements, steel truss for the roof (clear span approx. 36 m)
Chimney:
Approx. 110 m in height; reinforced concrete sleeve (by means of a gliding formwork)
