Building project

The Science and Event Center serves the University and City of Darmstadt as a multipurpose building. The building is located in the center of the city and houses a main hall for 1,200 visitors with a stage and variable seating, 2,000 m² exhibition area and an area of 1,000 m² with flexible subdivision for meetings, workshops and small events. These functional areas are
connected by an ample foyer with glass roof. The architectural design by Chalabi Architects was selected from an international competition and awarded the first price. The modern building is equipped with a highly energy efficient heating and climatisation system since it is the intention of the city council to erect an ecologically trend setting building. Under the Center parking areas on two levels are provided.
