Building project

The New Center in the Industrial Park Höchst consist of three buildings: a multi-story parking, an office tower (shown above in a computer visualisation) and a connecting building. The office tower and the connecting building pick up the appearance of the todays headquarters (brick buildings on the right), which have been constructed in the early 20th century and which are listed as historical monuments. The office tower (height approx. 120 m) is designed for the use as a headquarter for one of the companies present in the industrial park and features restaurant, conference and meeting facilities as well as office space and a visitors deck on top of the building. For the connecting building with 7 to 9 stories, office or laboratory use is under consideration.

The parking consist of a steel-structure with composite reinforced concrete/steel slabs. Due to the concentrated column loads, a foundation on piles turned out to be most economical. The tower and the connecting building will be a reinforced concrete skeleton structure with staircases and elevator shafts designed to carry lateral loads. Both buildings will be founded on reinforced concrete slabs. For the high rise tower a combined pile/slab foundation is under investigation. The non-bearing walls are gypsum cardboard system walls. The façade shall be made of sandwich elements with a ceramic surface in resemblance to the existing historic buildings.
